I took the day off for a Dr’s appointment. I struggle with making myself take days off, but have mostly stuck to it today. We struck out first thing to watch a couple of tall ships make their way to Portsmouth harbor. William selected Fort Constitution on New Castle Island. First, I love New Castle… Fort Constitution is a hidden gem though. To get to the fort, you have to walk through an active Coast Guard station. There is blue paint on the ground marking the path. I stepped off once or twice and was not met harsh words or a sniper’s talents. I suppose this Coast Guard station keeps some visitors at bay. So that means there was time for quiet contemplation by the sea.
